- 16 oz skinless boneless chicken breast
- 5 oz cream cheese
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 cups chicken broth
- ¾ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving
- 8 oz penne pasta, uncooked
- 1–2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- Add the cream cheese, butter, garlic, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth.
- Cover and cook on Low for 4–5 hours or on High for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is tender.
- Remove the chicken, shred with two forks, and return it to the sauce.
- Add the uncooked penne pasta and parmesan cheese, stirring to combine.
- Cover and cook on High for 20–30 minutes, until the pasta is tender.
- Stir once more before serving.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra parmesan or parsley if desired.
Notes
- This dish can be prepared in advance and reheated.
- For added flavor, consider sautéing the garlic before adding it to the slow cooker.
