Description

A refreshing homemade lemonade.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 cups cold water (divided)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, 1 cup of cold water, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar and salt completely dissolve. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice and the cooled syrup.
  3. Add the remaining 4 cups of cold water. Taste and adjust as needed; add a splash more water if it’s too strong or a bit more lemon juice if you like it tangy.
  4. Serve immediately over ice, or chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your taste.
  • For a stronger lemon flavor, use less water.
