Description

A delicious and crunchy peanut brittle recipe that is easy to make and perfect for snacking.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup roasted (salted peanuts)
  • 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt.
  3. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture begins to boil.
  4. Add the peanuts, and a candy thermometer, and continue to boil at a gentle boil, until the temperature reaches 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. Stir in the butter and baking soda.
  6. Pour the mixture onto the parchment lined sheet and carefully smooth into a thin layer.
  7. Allow the brittle to cool and harden.
  8. Use a rubber mallet to break the brittle into pieces.

Notes

  • This brittle can be stored in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
  • Be cautious when handling hot sugar as it can cause burns.
