Description

A refreshing lemon syrup perfect for drinks and desserts.


Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup sugar (150g)
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice (approx 2 lemons (120ml))
  • ½ cup water (120ml)
  • 1 lemon peel (unwaxed organic lemons)

Instructions

  1. Add the sugar, lemon juice, and water to a pot, along with 1 of the lemon peels, chopped.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and cool slightly.
  4. Place a sieve over a bowl and carefully pour in the syrup to strain. Discard the peels.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool and pour into a sanitized bottle or jar.
  6. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
