Description

Deliciously sweet and tart, these candied cranberries are perfect for holiday gatherings or as a festive treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar (divided)
  • ½ cup water
  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries (rinsed and dried)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine ½ cup sugar and ½ cup water. Heat until boiling and all sugar is dissolved.
  2. Reduce the heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the syrup thickens slightly.
  3. Remove from heat and add the cranberries, stirring until they are well coated.
  4. Using a slotted spoon, remove the berries from the syrup and place them on a wire rack over a rimmed baking sheet. Allow to dry for 1 hour.
  5. Working in batches, roll the cranberries in the remaining sugar and set on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow to set for 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to rinse and dry the cranberries thoroughly before candying.
  • These candied cranberries can be stored in an airtight container for several days.
