Description

A delightful dessert parfait made with layers of gingerbread cookies, vanilla pudding or mousse, and topped with festive decorations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package gingerbread cookies (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups vanilla pudding or mousse
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate shavings
  • 1/4 cup edible gold pearls or sprinkles
  • 4 small gingerbread men for decoration
  • 1 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg (optional, for extra spice)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Gingerbread Layer: Crush gingerbread cookies into coarse crumbs. Reserve some whole cookies for decoration.
  2. Prepare Mousse or Pudding: If using store-bought vanilla pudding or mousse, ensure it is chilled. For homemade mousse, whip cream with sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  3. Layering: In a clear glass or parfait cup, start with a layer of gingerbread crumbs. Add a layer of vanilla pudding or mousse on top. Repeat with another layer of gingerbread crumbs and vanilla pudding.
  4. Toppings: Top with whipped cream. Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies and white chocolate shavings. Add edible gold pearls for a festive touch.
  5. Decoration: Place a small gingerbread man on top of each parfait.

Notes

  • Texture Variation: For added texture, include a layer of caramel or chocolate sauce.
  • Flavor Enhancement: A pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg can enhance the festive flavors.
  • Advance Preparation: You can prepare these parfaits a few hours ahead and refrigerate them, adding the toppings just before serving to maintain freshness and crunch.
  • Customization: Adjust the sweetness and spice levels according to personal preference.
