Delicious cranberry orange sweet rolls that are perfect for breakfast or dessert.

- ¾ cup whole milk, warmed to 110°F
- 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- Zest of 1 large orange
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
- ½ teaspoon orange zest
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until it’s foamy and bubbly.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, and salt. Stir to combine, then gradually add in the flour. Knead the dough for about 8 minutes until soft, smooth, and elastic.
- Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 to 1½ hours, or until doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, combine the cranberries, sugar, orange juice, and orange zest in a saucepan. Cook until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes. Let it cool completely.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a 12×18-inch rectangle. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then evenly spread the cranberry filling on top.
- Starting from the long side, roll the dough up tightly into a log. Slice into 12 equal pieces and arrange in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let the rolls rise again for about 30–45 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes, until golden on top.
- While the rolls are still warm, whisk together the powdered sugar, orange juice, and zest. Drizzle over the rolls and serve warm.
Notes
- You can make the cranberry filling ahead and refrigerate it overnight if needed.
- Serve the rolls warm for the best flavor and texture.
