A delicious green bean casserole perfect for any occasion!

- 24 ounces Frozen Green Beans
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 8 ounces Sliced Mushrooms
- 1/2 Onion (finely diced)
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup (10 ounces each)
- 2 cups Cooked Chicken (shredded)
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 2 cups French Fried Onions (divided)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cook the frozen green beans based on the package instructions. Drain off the excess water and set aside.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add in the onions and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for a few minutes until the onions and mushrooms are soft.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soups, milk and seasonings until well combined. Then stir in the mushroom and onion mixture, chicken, green beans, 1 cup of the cheese and 1 cup of the French fried onions.
- Spread this mixture into a 9X13 baking pan. Bake for 15-18 minutes until the casserole is bubbling in the middle.
- Top with the remaining French fried onions and cheddar cheese. Place back in the middle and cook for 5 more minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven. Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes and then it’s ready to serve and enjoy!
Notes
- This casserole can be made ahead of time and baked when ready to serve.
- Feel free to substitute other vegetables for the green beans if desired.
