Description

A classic basil pesto recipe that is easy to make and perfect for pasta, sandwiches, and more!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh basil leaves
  • ½ cup pine nuts
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ¾ to 1 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Combine basil leaves, pine nuts, garlic, and cheese in a food processor and process with a blade attachment until well blended.
  2. With the food processor running, slowly drizzle the oil until you get the consistency you desire.
  3. Taste the pesto and add part or all of the salt according to taste.

Notes

  • Store any leftover pesto in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a creamier texture, add more olive oil.
