Description
Deliciously warm apple tortilla wraps with a sweet glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons butter (for apple filling)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 soft flour tortillas
- 2 tablespoons butter (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Stir and let cook for 6-8 minutes until apples are soft but not mushy.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the apple mixture. Simmer for another 1-2 minutes to thicken. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Lay each tortilla flat and spoon a line of apple filling down the center. Fold the bottom up slightly and roll tightly into a wrap. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
- In a small pan, melt 2 tablespoons butter with 2 tablespoons brown sugar until smooth. Brush or drizzle this over the rolled wraps.
- Heat a non-stick skillet and toast the wraps seam-side down until golden brown. Flip and toast all sides.
- Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or topped with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- These wraps are best served warm for maximum flavor and texture.
- Feel free to customize the filling with nuts or raisins if desired.
